Chicoreus asianus, commonly known as the “Asian murex”, is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Muricidae, the murex snails or rock snails.
NOTE: This specimen was from local fishermen in Guangdong Province, China. Since Chicoreus orientalis has been recognized as a synonym of C. asianus in accordance with WoRMS (2022/11), I prefer to used the name Chicoreus asianus f. orientalis for this specimen.
