Haliotis discus, common name the “disk abalone” or “Edo abalone”, is a sepcies of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Haliotidae, the abalones.
NOTE: In China, the subspecies H. d. hannai is widely cultured for food. It is said that the color zoning on the surface is associated with the food that they were fed on.
